CLASSIC NORTHERN TANZANIA SAFARI
All the classics of a North Tanzania round trip at a glance: Tarangire or Lake Manyara National Park, Serengeti National Park and the UNESCO World Heritage Site Ngorongoro Crater.
Day 1 | Arrival Kilimanjaro/Arusha
Upon arrival at the airport, you will be greeted and driven to your accommodation. Depending on the time, optional excursions in the area can be arranged. The Arusha National Park is very close by, as is Lake Duluti, where you can make beautiful boat trips.
Day 2 | Lake Manyara or Tarangire National Park
After breakfast drive to Lake Manyara National Park. The park is enclosed by the African Rift Valley, a thin belt of green forest bordered by 600 m high red and brown rocks and Lake Manyara Soda, which gives the park its name. Lake Manyara is famous for its almost 400 species of birds and its tree lions, which you can see if you are lucky.
Alternatively: After breakfast drive to Tarangire National Park with picnic lunch, game drives until late afternoon. Tarangire is famous for its large herds of elephants and baobab trees. Especially in the dry season, thirsty antelopes and elephants can be seen migrating along the Tarangire River.
Day 3 | Drive to the Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, drive west to the Serengeti National Park. On the way you stop for a picnic lunch and make your first animal observations in the most famous of all national parks in Tanzania. The Serengeti is legendary for its abundance of leopard and lion.
Day 4 | Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, discover the endless plains of the Serengeti on a full-day excursion. It is the scene of the annual migration of more than a million wildebeest, 200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelle on their way to new grazing grounds. The Serengeti ecosystem is one of the oldest in the world.
Day 5 | Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast departure towards Ngorongoro Conservation Area. A picnic lunch will be served en route. The Ngorongoro Crater has the world’s largest caldera with a depth of 600 m and an extension of 250 km².
Day 6 | Ngorongoro Crater Tour
After breakfast approx. 5 hour game drive inside the crater. The Ngorongoro Crater is a spectacular setting for around 20,000 wild animals. Also unique in this area are the approximately 60,000 Maasai, who are allowed to live with their sheep, goats and cows in their natural environment alongside all the wild animals. You will find many fantastic photo opportunities! Late afternoon drive back to Moshi or Arusha.
