FLY-IN GORILLA SAFARI

If you only have limited time in Uganda to experience the wonderful mountain gorillas, we recommend a fly-in safari from/to Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Flights depart from Entebbe daily in the morning and land in Kihihi (for gorilla visits in the Buhoma area in north Bwindi) or in Kisoro (for gorilla visits in south Bwindi).

Day 1 | Arrival in Entebbe
You will be greeted at Entebbe Airport and taken to your accommodation. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 2 | Entebbe – Bwindi National Park
Early in the morning drive to Entebbe Airport for your 07:45 flight to Western Uganda. You will land in either Kisoro (South Bwindi) or Kihihi (North Bwindi) in the early morning. From here it is a short drive to your lodge. After checking in, you will be served a delicious lunch. In the afternoon you can relax and prepare for the next few days.
Optionally, you can also take an interesting trip to the former inhabitants of the rainforest from the Batwa tribe, who will show you their old traditions and will also be happy to discuss the challenges of modern times with you.

Day 3 | Bwindi Gorilla Safari
Here you will experience the highlight of your safari: You will meet the gentle giants of Bwindis! Especially experienced hikers will like the path in the forest. It is difficult to predict how long it will be before you encounter the gorillas. The trek, which will be quite strenuous, can take anywhere from two to eight hours before you see a gorilla. But you will find that the effort was worth it the first time you spot these wonderful creatures. You can watch the gorillas eating, playing and snoozing from a good vantage point, an unforgettable and unique experience! To respect the gorillas’ habitat, time with the gorillas is limited to one hour. The ranger will explain how to behave around the gorillas.

Day 4 | Bwindi National Park – Flight to Entebbe
Enriched with unforgettable impressions, you say goodbye to the “Pearl of Africa”. Depending on your departure time, you will be taken to the Kihihi or Kisoro airstrip in the morning and fly back to Entebbe for your onward or homeward journey.
