ADVENTURE IN KAFUE NATIONAL PARK

The Kafue National Park is an unpolished jewel. Discover the second largest national park in Africa on a varied 7-day safari, which is also a very good starting point for a combination with the better-known parks such as South Luangwa, Lower Zambezi and Victoria Falls.

Day 1 | Arrival Livingstone – Kafue National Park
Your safari begins upon arrival in Livingstone, where you will be greeted by a representative from our partner company in Zambia. The subsequent drive to the Kafue National Park takes about 3 hours. At the Dundumwezi Gate, the entrance gate to the Kafue, you will be awaited and welcomed by your safari team from the Nanzhila Plains Camp. During the drive to the camp you can already make exciting animal observations and enjoy the African steppe landscape.

Day 2 – 3 | Kafue National Park
Enjoy two full exciting safari days around the camp. The Nanzhila Chalets or Safari Tents all have a beautiful view of a lagoon and the windows let in all the wonderful sounds of the African night unimpeded! On the game drives and walks you will see a variety of animal and bird species including 4 of the Big 5. Your hosts at Nanzhila are the owners, Steve and Cindy Smith. This means you can be sure to hear impeccable attention to detail and hours of campfire tales about life in the bush.

Day 4 | Kafue National Park
After a hearty breakfast, drive across the African steppe of Kafue National Park and through Ngoma Forest to Lake Itezhi-tezhi. If you wish, you can stop at an elephant orphanage along the way. For lunch you will have a picnic lunch and then be handed over to the Kaingu Safari Lodge team at a meeting point. Then continue to the lodge. The final 10 minutes to camp is a speedboat ride to the hideaway, beautifully tucked away through a fairytale waterscape.

Day 5 – 6 | Kafue National Park
Kaingu Safari Lodge is nestled in the beautiful surroundings of the Namwala Game Management Area on a remote part of the Kafue River some 400km north of the famous Victoria Falls in the heart of the African bushland. Just across the river is Kafue National Park, which can be reached within 10 minutes by boat. The Kafue River with its countless channels, rapids and islets offers a variety of recreational activities such as boating, fishing, bird watching and canoeing. In addition to classic game drives with an open four-wheel drive vehicle, your lodge also offers eventful canoe and boat tours.

Day 7 | Transfer to Lusaka – journey home
After breakfast you will drive back to Lusaka (4-5 hours drive) from where you will start your journey home or a follow-up program.
